Ladies and Gentlemen!
Characters in Nasty Business
We want to start with the thing that is most important to us at the moment.
As you probably remember during the campaign, we promised that everyone who adds the solo campaign "Nasty Business" to their pledge will be included as one of the characters.
Unfortunately, there are still many of you who have not sent us your character information (we sent you the guidelines on how to do this in a message). Unfortunately, we cannot wait any longer, because in order to finish the campaign - we need to have all the characters. Therefore, we ask all those who have not yet done so (it's a dozen people in total) to check your messages and send us the required information.
We are waiting for responses until 10.08 and then, we will be closing the "list of heroes" who will appear in this campaign.
Late Pledge and Pledge Manager
We are receiving questions from many players about the launch of the "Late pledge" and the opening of the "Pledge manager".
Therefore, we would like to inform you that Late pledge will be launched soon.
I think it will be done within a week and anyone who still wants to get our game will have the opportunity to do so.
We will be launching the Pledge manager around September. At least that is the prediction. But, of course, we will inform you about all the dates. At the moment, we are focusing on completing the graphic design work, finalizing the stretch goals (campaigns and characters) and agreeing on the most important production issues.
Work progress - graphics
We are still working hard in this area. At the moment we have more than half of the graphics needed for the new action cards and new characters completed. Jacek, our graphic designer doesn't have much free time, I have to admit;)
But he is doing a really great job!
In the last update we showed you sketches of some of the work - in this one we can already show you what they look like in the finished version. We hope you will like them!

New characters
At the moment we are also working on action cards for new characters that have been unlocked in stretch goals. They will certainly bring a lot of new features to the game, but we will make sure that they work well with the others and enable even better combos to be built.
Testing is underway and probably in the next update one or two will be presented.
Or maybe you have some ideas of your own for their abilities? Maybe you will inspire some unique skill that will enter the game? If you feel like it - write in the messages.
Next meeting
We are planning our next meeting with players at a board game festival in Katowice "Board Games in Spodek". If any of you are in the area, you are cordially invited. The Festival will be held on September 9-10, 2023.
And if you can't make it - we'll see you at the Spiele Essen 2023 trade fair!

We also decided to give you a sneak peek of our "secret plan". It was created long before the campaign, but since its implementation takes a long time and was not certain - we did not mention it.
However, as we are in the next stage, the important meetings are behind us and we can move on to the "final clash". Will we be able to win and end everything positively? That we cannot guarantee, but we will try our very best.
But what are we even talking about? For now, we'll just reveal that our game has attracted the interest of a Very Important Horror Maker, a man from the film industry.
And this could mean a very big promotional boost for the project. But more about that in the next update!

Ladies and Gentlemen!
Below you will find some information on how the work on the game is progressing, what we are doing at the moment and some organizational information.
First of all - the upcoming meetings:
As you know, we are creating the game for you, the players. And there is nothing more pleasant than to sit down together with you, play and listen to your and ideas about our games. And since there will be several opportunities to meet in the near future - below you can find information about the biggest ones that we for sure will attend.
On 16-18.06.2023 you will be able to meet us at the Pyrkon 2023 Festival of Fantasy.
This is one of the largest events of its kind in Poland. You will be able to meet us at booth 217. Horror Game Show will be available there, of course, and everyone will be able to try their hand at the game.
We will certainly also appear in Essen on October 5-8, at SPIELE 2023. We hope that many of you will visit this year's fair and visit us and try out the game.
And we can already announce that we will have a surprise for you, prepared especially for this occasion. We will tell you about it soon - in the meantime, plan your visit already!
Work progress - graphics
We are currently working intensively on graphics for the new characters that appeared during the campaign. We are also improving some of the illustrations that were prepared for the prototype. Below you can see some of the ones already prepared and some sketches that will soon become full-fledged illustrations:

Progress - Development
As you can probably guess, we are intensively testing the game and especially the balance issues of the new characters. We are excited that their abilities will give new possibilities in the game and will work interestingly with others.
We are also testing some ideas that came up during the campaign.
In particular, an idea that concerns adding to the game the possibility of placing beasts in the Arena, which will become an additional difficulty.
How do we want them to work?
First of all - autonomously. Certainly it will not be a new type of "character". Rather, it will be a new kind of "moving trap".
Second - they will definitely have an area effect and will have their own "hunting" mechanics so that each appearance of them in the arena will increase the uncertainty and sense of danger for the characters nearby (even the hidden ones! The beasts will be able to "sniff them out").
As you remember in the last update we mentioned work on making the game less prone to "downtime". We're still working on it, but it looks like the solution we've introduced works pretty well.
So - we have introduced one more symbol into the mechanics of playing cards. The "Stop" symbol.
It will take over the function of stopping the round of a given player (as "pause" did so far).
On the other hand, "pause" will receive a new functionality - it will interrupt your round and the possibility of playing cards, but will not end it definitively. It will simply return the turn to you and you can continue your "combo" - only that other players will be able to react to it in advance.
Such a solution makes individual players' plays faster, shorter and forces the others to be more attentive and take into account the "suspended plays" that can still be continued in the same round.

Organizational issues
As you know, this is our first campaign, and we're kind of just learning how to work well with our backers. And since we've noticed that from time to time there are comments asking for more updates, we think it's best to put in place some sort of regular cycle of us posting more updates on progress.
And we'll do our best to make sure that every 2-3 weeks a new portion of information about how the work is going will appear here. It will probably not be "Big News" every time - but we hope it will systematize communication between us and give you a better insight into the current situation of the project.
Because the fact that we're super grateful to you guys for the support you've shown us has already been said, right? ;)

Easter update

Ladies and Gentlemen!
In case you were wondering what’s going on behind the scenes after the campaign – we are more than happy to give you some information about the progress we are making.
We’ve been gone for a bit because we are putting in a lot of work into this project and we are directing all our attention to it.
But we will try to post updates regularly so that you know what’s going on with The Horror Game Show. A bigger and more detailed update will appear shortly after Easter.
Working on the game
First off – we gathered all the ideas and comments you submitted to us, analysed them carefully and talked them through (which we’ll probably still do a lot more times in the future). We are very grateful for all of them and even though we would love to include them all, we are very set on the game having its own rhythm and not becoming overloaded. Our main goal is for the game to be fun and that’s what we’re focusing on. That’s why we decided to leave some of your suggestions for the future (maybe we’ll use them in an expansion pack?) and some we simply had to put aside.
Since the campaign ended our developers have been working, testing, tweaking and concluding. And what’s most important, we are very happy with the results.
All the changes in the mechanics and other modifications will be announced in a separate update. For now, we will only say that the game has become less susceptible to downtime and far more interactive, which means that more attention and engagement from the players will be required.

Solo Campaign
We would like to officially announce that we invited Maciej Ziółkowski to help us with creating a script and an interesting story for the campaign. He’s a screenwriter, copywriter, songwriter, board game designer and tester, as well as a musician, sound engineer and a dubbing director. All in all, a very talented guy. Some of his works include a Jim Jarmush film, “The Prisoner” series or the animated series “Władcy móch” (“Lords of Flies”). Therefore, the works on the solo campaign are going according to our promise during the campaign. Soon you will receive a message (those who ordered a solo campaign during the KS campaign) asking for the names of the people you want to include in the scenarios. And together with Maciek we’ll make good use of them :)
Models
Our graphic designers are working extra hard which you can see below on a couple of samples. We are also keeping in touch with our production partner, and we are consulting the production of models with them every step of the way.
We have also prepared the first test printing of models. Of course, this is not their final form - we will optimize and improve them. Here are some examples:

Ready for the Finale?

Ladies and Gentlemen!
There’s only a few hours left until our campaign ends. So, we decided to share the last bit of news before the finish line.
As I’m sure you’ve already noticed – the results of our survey are very definitive. The overwhelming majority of you decided that you prefer black lines on the board better. And that’s what we’re going to do.
We will also prepare versions with different thicknesses of the lines and try to find the “happy medium” between their clear, usable function and minimal interference with the board’s background.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey! We hope that we will also be able to count on your feedback in the future.
As we promised, we added the two new expansions as add-ons.
The first one is the previously announced solo campaign “Nasty Business”. Obviously, you’ll be able to add it in your pledge manager – but we have a small surprise for you. As it is not finished yet – we thought that this little gesture will serve as a thank you for supporting us in this campaign. Therefore, each of you that decides to add this expansion to your pledge will be able to appear in said campaign as one of the characters!
Of course, you’ll also be able to give us the name of a friend or anybody else of your choice. We’ll ask about the name (or a nickname) and the role they will be playing in the game after the campaign.
The second one is “Own Studio” – an expansion designed after a series of comments and requests we received in private messages. It is loaded with clear components which will allow the players to create their own characters, events, intrigues or even action cards for their characters.
And we’ll stress this straight away – this will not be available outside of this campaign. It can therefore be treated as a Kickstarter Exclusive. Maybe you’ll be able to get it as a gift at events or a reward in a competition, but that’s it.
And finally – one more thing...
As you know this is our first campaign. We managed to achieve a whole lot. Granted, a few things will need improvement in the future. But one thing is certain and undeniable: we were able to gather an incredible community of people who kindly and with a great deal of trust give us their support and cheer us on. And what’s equally as important – they advise us and give us valuable feedback.
So, we could not remain indifferent. Therefore, as a thank you to all of you, we prepared a small gift.
Every supporter who ordered our game in any of the versions – will also receive an Artbook. We prepared a great deal of graphics for the game, so it will be packed.
We will also add stories as well as descriptions of each character’s background – and maybe a few other surprises. It will not be available after the campaign.

Black or White? - The Board Survey

Ladies and Gentlemen!
As promised, we’d like to discuss with you the topic often mentioned in the comments: which is the board’s graphic.
We are happy to hear that the contents of the boards and the graphic on them were to your liking. But some of you raised the topic of the lines and the fact that they might outshine the illustrations on the board a bit “too much”. In your messages you also suggested that a colour change may be helpful.
Therefore, we’d like to know your opinion on the colour of the lines first. Below are two propositions of the same board – one with black and one with white lines.
We’d be very grateful if you could write in the comments which of these versions you think is better and more suitable.

Once we decide on the colour – then we will take care of the thickness.
